Plant Hire FAQs
The questions we actually get asked, answered straight — not a generic list. If yours isn't here, just message us on WhatsApp or email info@bradburyplant.co.uk.
How does delivery work?
Delivery and collection are included within 15 miles of our Gravesend depot. Beyond that, delivery is charged at £1.50 per mile each way, worked out automatically once we've verified your postcode. If you're north of the Thames or into London, we'll confirm a delivery price with you directly rather than applying the standard rate.
Is my booking confirmed as soon as I submit it online?
Your booking request holds the dates and machine for you straight away, but it's marked as pending until we confirm the delivery and collection details with you. We'll be in touch shortly after you submit it.
What deposit do I need to pay?
A £50 deposit secures bookings, deducted from your final bill. Payment can be made beforehand or on delivery.
Can I extend my hire if the job takes longer than planned?
Yes, subject to availability — just message us. Extra days are charged at a lower rate than the daily rate, since delivery is already sorted, and there's no penalty for running over. We'd just ask that you let us know as soon as you can.
What if I need to cancel my booking?
Get in touch as soon as you know — the sooner you tell us, the more we can do to help. Any cancellation charge depends on the circumstances and how much notice you've given; we won't charge anything disproportionate to the position it actually leaves us in. Full terms are on our Consumer Terms and Trade Terms pages.
Do I need a licence or ticket to hire a digger?
That depends on where and how the machine will be used — sites operating under CDM regulations, for example, typically require operators to hold recognised training such as CPCS or NPORS. You're responsible for making sure whoever operates the machine is competent and appropriately trained for the job and site in question. If you're unsure what applies to your job, give us a call and we're happy to talk it through.
Can I add attachments or an extra machine to my booking?
Yes — check out our attachments and extras when you book, and you can add another machine to the same order too, with everything arriving together as one delivery.
What areas do you cover?
We're based in Gravesend and deliver across North Kent, including Dartford, Medway, Sevenoaks, Maidstone and Sittingbourne. Delivery is included within 15 miles; beyond that we charge per mile, or confirm a price directly for areas north of the Thames or into London.
What are your opening hours?
We're open Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, and Saturday 7am to 11am. We're closed Sundays. You can check availability and request a booking online any time.
